Jcube shopping mall in Jurong East to close down in early August 2023 to make way for a new 40 storey mixed development with commercial shop space on its first and second storeys of the building.

The mall that is managed by Capitaland will shut down its premises at 10pm sharp. They are working closely with the mall tenants to ensure a smooth handover. According to Capitaland Development Singapore’s chief executive Mr Tan Yew Chin said sales for the new condominium will be launched in the second half of the year 2023.

The new condominium development which will complete in 2027 will have direct link to the Jurong East Mrt station as well as to the upcoming Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub. The new transport hub will also house a public library, a community club and a sports centre.

The new condominium addition and the Jurong East Integrated Transport Hub will be in line with the governments plannings in the URA Masterplan of 2014. It targets to bring more new homes, businesses, recreational facilities and amenities to the Jurong Lake District.

Jurong will be the largest commercial and business district outside of the Central Business District. Plans to make it into Singapore’s second CBD is underway with 100,000 new jobs and 20,000 new homes by the year 2040 and 2050.

Another new launch happening in 2023 will be the one on Yuan Ching Road, The LakeGarden Residences by Wing Tai. This new estate will add on about 300+ new homes into the existing supply in Jurong estate. Its estimated completion date is 2027. The project fronting the Jurong Lake Gardens will have direct access into the gardens.

The Japanese Garden and Chinese Garden forms part of the Jurong Lake Garden which is currently close to construction works. Once completed the 90 hectare garden in the heartlands will offer endless fun and activities for the community to come together.
